The Harrison HAPKIDO Mission System, The H.HAPKIDO System, were established in 1975.  The HAPKIDO academy traces its lineages through GrandMaster Steven Page The Dragon and Tiger Hapkido Academy,  GrandMaster  Sea Oh Chi & GrandMaster  Bong Soo Han's International HAPKIDO Federation & GrandMaster  Danny Williams, Institute of Urban Hap Ki Do Systems, and GrandMaster In Sun Seo, The World Ki Do Federation and   Hanminjok Hapkido Association.

The H. HMS & H. HS Hap Ki Do program accepts Hap Ki Do practitioners regardless of style. However, the H. HMS & H. HS provides a comprehensive curriculum and technical support for those members who need such guidance.

Ranking System

The H. HMS & H. HS ranking system is a standardized ranking system that serves the three martial arts (
The Harrison HAP KI DO Mission System, The H. HAP KI DO System, and Hap Ki Do) methods (H. HMS  &  H. HS) currently under its umbrella. Participation in the H. HMS & H. HS ranking system is not necessarily synonymous with training. It is meant as an incentive system for six  who wish to serve as future teachers and ambassadors of one or all of the Six aforementioned arts. Advancement in rank is a privilege, and not right - it is a meritocracy. Therefore, training is not a guarantee for advancement. The student/practitioner must demonstrate a genuine willingness to accept the teachings of these arts without compromise.

The ranking system for gup (grade) and dan (black belt) levels observed by the H. HMS & H. HS martial art programs are based on a modification of the "Five (5) Phases (aka Five Elements)". There are ten (10) gup levels and nine (9) levels.  Our students are certified in each organization when they earn their black belts from our organization.
