Hi,
Chief Master Instructor:
Benny:
I just want to thank you and all the others for the hapkido tournament
yesterday. Ryan was so excited to win 2nd place. He now knows
what it takes to be a true winner. He came home yesterday talking
about how his opponent was a girl and she beat him, but the "next
time" he'll come in first place. I think this tournament gave
him a boost of confidence, at least I hope so. Keep pushing him to
excellence. Ryan's timid, unlike Ravan, but I know the light will go
off in his head one of these days and he'll realize all that you and GrandMaster
Steve have been instilling in him. Keep up the good work.
You're providing good role
models for young kids, and for Ryan in particular, some of whom,
don't have a father in the home. I think from now on you'll see a
better effort from Ryan. And his sister, Ravan, now wishes she
hadn't quit. She might return and if she does, I trust her attitude
will be better.

However, the H. HMS & H. HS provides a comprehensive curriculum and
technical support for those members who need such guidance.
Ranking System
The H. HMS & H. HS
ranking system is a standardized ranking system that serves the three martial
arts (The Harrison HAP KI DO Mission
System, The H. HAP KI DO System,
and Hap Ki Do) methods (H. HMS & H. HS) currently under its umbrella.
Participation in the H. HMS & H. HS ranking system is not necessarily
synonymous with training. It is meant as an incentive system for six who wish to
serve as future teachers and ambassadors of one or all of the Six aforementioned
arts. Advancement in rank is a privilege, and not right - it is a meritocracy.
Therefore, training is not a guarantee for advancement. The student/practitioner
must demonstrate a genuine willingness to accept the teachings of these arts
without compromise.
The ranking system for gup
(grade) and dan (black belt) levels observed by the H. HMS & H. HS martial
art programs are based on a modification of the "Five (5) Phases (aka Five
Elements)". There are ten (10) gup levels and nine (9) levels.Our
students are certified in each organization when they earn their black belts
from our organization.
